Scholarships

Scholarships offered by the Flemish Community                                   

APEC has set up a scholarship programme with the Flemish Community. The departments Flanders International and Mobility & Public Works are involved.
In the past years, Flanders has signed bilateral framework agreements with several countries in the world. Candidates for the APEC-standard seminars from these countries can apply for such a scholarship (3.000 EURO), covering the hotel costs, all meals, registration fee, documentation, local transport and insurance. The international transport costs are not included in the scholarship.

The scholarships are awarded in cooperation with the Flemish Community.

Scholarships of the Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC)

Each year, the Belgian Development Cooperation awards a number of scholarships to its partner countries worldwide

The scholarship applications are selected in the partner countries. All candidates should send their application form directly to the Attach for Development Cooperation or to the Embassy of Belgium in the partner country, with copy to APEC. Only these authorities can deliver the necessary application forms. You can obtain more information via http://www.btcctb.org.

The Province of Antwerp grants scholarships

The Province of Antwerp grants a limited number of scholarships, mainly related to the French speaking seminars of APEC.
This scholarship (3.000 EURO), covers the hotel costs, all meals, registration fee, documentation, local transport and insurance. The international transport costs are not included in the scholarship !

IMPORTANT: Candidates who are awarded a scholarship need to confirm their presence at least 2 weeks before the start of the seminar. If not, the scholarship will be awarded to another candidate !


Scholarships of the International Association of Ports and Harbors                

Over the past two decades, the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) has offered assistance to the needs of its member ports in developing countries. Since 1980, the IAPH bursary scheme has enabled more than 100 officers from IAPH member ports in developing countries to attend advanced port training programs overseas.

Members of IAPH can receive financial assistance to attend an APEC seminar. Upon request you will receive the bursary scheme for IAPH member port staff in developing countries.
