The Port of Antwerp combines a long tradition in break bulk cargo with state-of-the-art infrastructure. Handling around 21 million tonnes of steel, forest products, fruit, ro-ro and project cargo every year, the Port of Antwerp boasts the capacity, productivity and full range of services. Combined with the most convenient inland connections by road, rail or barge, it is little wonder the Port of Antwerp is Europe's N° 1 breakbulk port.
APEC aims to share the know-how of the public and private sector and offers in this respect a brand new seminar on "Break Bulk Cargo". The seminar will tackle the various aspects such as the role of shipping lines - shipping agents and forwarders, document flow, insurance, advantages and developments in the sector, specific port labour issues with regard to the handling of break bulk cargo, intermodal connections, choice & use of equipment, customs, organisation of a general cargo terminal,... This seminar offers a well balanced mix of presentations and specific site visits, as always, with the well known interactive approach.
