The seminar on Container Terminal Management covers all essential theoretical and practical aspects of container terminal operations. Private port operators and public port authorities give a detailed overview on issues as quay-wall infrastructure, technical terminal management, crane and lifting materials, container terminal configuration and lay-out, computerised operational systems, intermodal shifts and general container policy.
Visits are paid to the container terminals of PSAHNN, DP World and Inter Ferry Boats in Antwerp. Also inland container terminals, the Port of Zeebrugge and the container shunting yard of the Belgian Railways are included in the programme. A special visit is organised to the Deurganck dock, the state of the art tidal container dock in Antwerp.
