The Port Authority carries out a wide range of activities at different locations, with thousands of employees working under all sorts of conditions. The Accident Prevention & Safety department ensures that they are able to do their job in a safe, healthy and pleasant work environment. This applies not only to the Port Authority’s own employees but also those of outside contractors.

These regulations only apply if the contractor is working alone and there is no temporary or mobile construction site. If there is a temporary or mobile construction site, then the owner must include a Health & Safety Plan in the contract specifications, describing the relevant safety measures.
