Fishing is allowed in a number of places in the Antwerp port area. A Flemish fishing permit is required.

What is it?

Fishing is allowed in a number of locations in the Antwerp port area. It concerns the following [laces:

  • Bonaparte dock
  • Willem dock
  • Quays 20 and 22 of the Kattendijk dock (Oostkaai)
  • Quays 25, 26, 27, 32, 39 and 40 of the Hout dock
  • Quay 30 of the Asia dock
  • Quays 33 and 34 of the Kempisch dock
  • Quays 46 and 63 of the Suez dock
  • The eastern bank of the B2 Kanaal dock from ABT/Delwaide dock to the Scheldt–Rhine Canal

Attention! Fishing from a boat is not allowed anywhere in the port.

Who is it for?

To fish in the port area you need a Flemish fishing permit. A Flemish fishing permit is available from every post office.

Fishing permits are valid for one year starting from the date of delivery. Children younger than 14, accompanied by an adult, do not need a fishing permit. They are allowed to fish with one rod, subject to supervision of an adult with a municipal and Flemish fishing permit. In the port area, Flemish river fishing regulations apply.
