New joint venture

Antwerp Cold Stores and Seafrigo concluded a joint venture at the end of April. The two firms have announced their ambition to become the number one choice in Belgium for handling and storage of temperature-controlled goods.

Antwerp Cold Stores and Seafrigo jointly boast storage capacity of 16,000 m², half of which is dedicated to deep-frozen products. They specialise in the handling and storage of temperature-controlled goods and custom logistics services. Ben Van Wolput is the Managing Director of the Belgian entity.

Strategic location

Antwerp Cold Stores is based at a strategic location in the port, close to the border inspection point. Thanks to this collaboration, the Antwerp hub will attract more goods flows, both for import and export. The additional traffic also offers significant added value for a variety of stakeholders within the port, such as shipping companies and terminals. The integration of the two firms will boost Antwerp's position as the first and last port of call for import and export in this goods category.

Planned investments

The joint venture is also planning some new investments, such as a new warehouse for deep-frozen goods, 20,000 additional pallet spaces, and new jobs. Seafrigo announced a new LCL service earlier this year.
