Direct block train from BASF to China

Monday 22 06 2020

Last Wednesday, the second direct block train from BASF to China departed from the Combinant Terminal. The Antwerp train of 42 40ft-high cube containers is carrying goods destined for the Nanjing warehouse.

Ultimately, BASF wants to start a regular service because this mode of transport is faster and more reliable than the sea route. Combinant is an open access rail terminal founded by BASF, Hupac and Hoyer in 2010 to promote sustainability and intermodal transport.
